I was born with a condition called optic nerve hypoplasia. The doctors said I would never see, because it is a birth defect that cannot be cured. Despite this amazing display, I didn’t begin to take my faith seriously until 4th grade. Right around that time, my family moved across the country, which I didn’t like and I went into depression. Instead of cutting myself or being suicidal, I began to read my bible, pray, and try to act more like Jesus. Keep in mind I was only 10. A year later, I moved again, to another state, where I continued to grow in my faith and trust Christ. I had a very close relationship with God, I attended a great church, and had very close friends that also had a good relationship with God. About a year ago, I began praying that God would strengthen my faith, and he did. My family moved across the country again, and I no longer have close christian friends, we switch churches quite often, but my faith is even stronger. I’ve gotten a small taste of what persecution is like, and a very strong taste of what standing firm in God is like.
